Labor Day Weekend Getaways

We're coming up on the last big weekend of summer. This will probably be our last hurrah for the season. So we're trying to pick a great last minute summer vacation that will keep us going all through the fall. But our possibilities are wide open. We have a long weekend -- and we can do almost anything we want but we should probably stay in the U.S. since this will be a quick trip. As we're making our decision, we're thinking about three possible and amazing options. Anyone of these could be the perfect Labor Day Weekend getaway. Which should we choose? We're considering three destinations for our Labor Day Weekend Getaway: St. Croix (upper left), Martha's Vineyard (upper right) and Yakima Valley Wine Country (bottom) 1. St. Croix: It's a short flight to the U.S. Virgin Islands and St. Croix in particular has a lot to offer the weekend traveller. We're looking forward to relaxing on the quiet Butler Bay beach, maybe dropping by the Cruzan Rum distillery and exploring Buck Island's coral reef. We'd stay at one of the comfy cottages at Chenay Bay Beach Resort, just steps from Chenay Bay Beach and just relax for three nights. 2. Martha's Vineyard: A classic summer destination, the Vineyard is a quiet little island just off the coast of Cape Cod and cut off by about seven miles of water. We have to take a ferry out there (or fly to their tiny airport). But once there, we can go horseback riding along the beaches or maybe go sailing with a few friends. We'd recommend staying at the adorable Pequot Hotel and drop by Rouge Luxe Apothecary to pick up Soleil Organique. 3. Yakima Valley: Who wouldn't want to go winery hopping in wine country? Yakima Valley is a quiet, less trafficked wine region located in Washington state. White water rafting is also calling our name here. We could see having a little adventure on the rapids before or after having a relaxing afternoon at a vineyard. And it's the perfect spot for a bed and breakfast, especially one like Rosedell Mansion. Where would you go for Labor Day Weekend?
